Our Mission:

NatureSTEAM is a hands-on educational nonprofit dedicated to exploring S.T.E.A.M. education through art and nature. Sparking curiosity, nurturing environmental consciousness, and empowering individual expressions.

Our Goals:

Provide a well-rounded program that integrates art and nature activities.
Foster a supportive and inclusive community for children to learn and grow.
Develop partnerships with local artists and environmental organizations.

About Courtney:

Founder and CEO of NatureSTEAM

Courtney King is a native Arkansan, nonprofit founder, and the 2025 recipient of the NWA Weaver Award. A former Senior Class President at Alma High School, Courtney is currently on the Dean's List in the final semester of her senior year at the University of Arkansas’s Fulbright College, where she is completing a BA in Studio Arts with a STEM certificate and minor in Art History.

Courtney's experience is rooted in more than a decade of living and working in the Ozark National Forest along the Mulberry River. Courtney brings professional expertise to her land stewardship as a Certified Interpretive Guide and Leave No Trace Instructor, experience she honed while serving as a facilities manager at Hobbs State Park. Courtney combines academic excellence, certified technical expertise, and a heart for protecting our land as the founder of NatureSTEAM.

Commitment:

We are able to provide free programming to the local community with the support received from donations and grants. We truly appreciate the support from our local community in our mission to provide free STEAM education through art and nature to spark curiosity, confidence, and environmental stewardship in youth and families, especially in rural and underserved communities.

Q: Do NatureSTEAM programs cost money?

A: We are proud to offer entirely free programming to the local community. We do plan to offer optional online courses in the future which may have an added fee, but the programs we offer in person are entirely free!

Q: How can I get involved with NatureSTEAM?

A: We invite all members of the community to get involved and we offer internship positions as well as volunteer options for all levels of interest. Fill out the intern/volunteer form and we will get back to you with opportunities currently available!

Q: How can I support NatureSTEAM?

A: You can help support NatureSTEAM by donating, volunteering your time or skills, raising awareness, joining our events, following on social media, and/or becoming a sponsor. We are grateful for your support!
